Drill Team

 

The Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Drill Team is one of the most successful teams in the Jaguar Battalion. The members of this team learn discipline along with regulation drills and the great art of rifle exhibition and color guard.

The Drill Team demands dedication and determination to be successful. We have been extremely successful, and have won many district titles, reached the state, regional and national levels of competition. We expect many great years to come, and new people are always welcome to join.

It’s a good way for your cadet to know the drill and get help one-on-one with other cadets and learn how to march and work as one with other cadets. They can learn to work in a group with rifles or without, and learn how to keep a steady pace and cadence. Drill mentally sets your mind to focus on one thing and to block out the surrounding noise and activities. The drill helps out every cadet throughout life; whether, it’s in the classroom, at home, at work, or anywhere else they will go.

Drill Team’s competition season begins in December, and they practice Monday through Thursday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

 

 

Color Guard

 

Color Guard is a team not to be missed. The Color Guard presents the United States flag at many ceremonies and makes Port St. Lucie High School look brilliant. All of their hard work pays off at competitions. These cadets have won many awards and trophies that can be admired (H21). They’re a proud team that students would love to join. Anybody wanting to be a part of this winning team should inform their Company Chain of Command or Command Sergeant Major.

 

 

 

Raiders

  The Raider team stresses physical abilities and mental capabilities as well as teamwork and cooperation. The reason we stress teamwork so much is that each event consists of 10 out of the 12 cadets on the team. All of the training pays off at the Raider’s competition when these cadets get to show off their skills and compete for glory. This team teaches teamwork, cooperation, and serious discipline. The Raider Team’s competition season takes place during the 1st Semester, and the team practices Monday through Thursday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Furthermore, there is a Raider survival camp-out during the year that allows the team to show off their survival skills. This also allows them to open their eyes to help and work together as a team to get the job done.

 

 

 

             Marksmanship

 

Marksmanship is a team that always works together. There’s always a shooter, a coach, and a team, but the members of the team can choose to compete as individuals at competitions or work together as a team. Being part of this team is an honor. The members are all hard-working, disciplined cadets who love to practice precision shooting, controlled breathing, and focus. While on this team, the cadets go through three main shooting positions: prone, standing, and kneeling. The Marksmanship competition season begins in the 1st Semester. They practice Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm, and Friday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

 

Honor Guard

The Jaguar battalion honor guards are a great way for cadets to earn money for the JROTC program while having fun at the same time. Cadets do work details, like parking cars, to helping people get groceries to their car. Honor guards don’t just raise money for the Battalion, they also provide community service hours for the cadets that take part in them. For cadets that are interested in participating in an Honor guard, they can sign up to participate in room H-22. Cadets can earn up to 50+ community service hours a year doing Honor guards alone.

Booster Club

The Jaguar Battalion has to cover numerous expenses throughout the year; some of which can be transferred to cadets. The Booster Club is where Jaguar Battalion parents can get involved and help offset these costs. They raise money for cadets that don’t necessarily have enough money to do things with the rest of the cadets like going on field trips. They also cook for some of the major home events: drill meets and our yearly Organization Day. Booster club parents act as chaperones to all off-campus events. They meet on the first Thursday of every month at 6:30 pm.

Tutoring

Need help in school? The Jaguar Battalion has a group of smart cadets willing to tutor in most subjects, even Honors and AP courses. Don’t be afraid to ask for help; our cadets will be more than willing to help you! Each of our tutors has at least a 3.5 GPA and is selected by the staff and the instructor group. We will be more than happy to help and accommodate any needs you may have!
